Dublin | Rotterdam | Paris
More often than expected I have these special weeks when coincidences show up. In 2001 I went to Paris, Caracas and twice to New York. In 2004 I had Birmingham, London, Istanbul and Paris. Last week I had Dublin and Paris!
I went to Dublin as part of my work. I spent two nice days in a fascinating city. A city about to start, a city with great character. A difficult city. As a company, we are trying to get more work in Ireland, it would be nice to be often in Dublin, I'm beginning to know the place.
On wednesday night i went to the Temple Bar area, a nice nightlife city centre with real Irish pubs. On my second day in Dublin I was on my own, so I went to take pictures and look around. They have nice shops there. To my surprise I found a
muji shop in Dublin. One of my choices! So I went there and I bought a couple of things for
Margreet, and just one extra PP drawer for the house.
After that I flew back to Amsterdam, then with the train to Rotterdam to meet Margreet at home. The very next morning I was taking the train to Paris, to meet my sister, her husband and my little niece, the daughter of my other sister. So I was in Paris on friday's afternoon looking around at
the Louvre, being the personal guide of my young niece.
We had a nice weekend. We had different tastes and different interests, but it went well. On sunday I was on my own, everybody was already gone home. I went to
Centre Pompidou, bought some postcards, and again something special for
Margreet and then went to look at the exhibition at Centre Pompidou.
Later in the afternoon, I had a moment to myself. A wonderful lunch at George's, at the top of Pompidou... this time Monica Belucci wasn't there, but that's another story.
And yes, in Paris I made some shopping at
Galeries Lafayette, specifically at Lafayette Gourmet. Dijon's Mosterd, Dragon's Mosterd, Mayyonaisse, Terrine, saumon sauce, etc. Of course, I also went to muji for yet another couple of things; for
Margreet and for the house.
It seems as if Paris, the city, is a fixed part of Antonio's choice. But no, this time it was coincidence.....
